Catherine "Trina" Janes helps organizations build public affairs solutions to develop powerful messaging, strengthen relationships, connect resources and meet unique needs. She incorporates strategic communications, advocacy, strategic planning and project management. Clients include small businesses, elected officials, institutions and non-profit organizations.
She served as Vice President at Haymarket Public Strategies and Program Officer for Rotary International. A second-generation Peace Corps Volunteer, she worked in grassroots health education and development in Morocco. Trina has worked with businesses and organizations that that range from locally, nationally and internationally focused.
At Haymarket she managed complex government and community relations projects for clients including large health care organizations, community hospitals, corporations, a family-owned tourism business, political candidates, elected officials and non-profit organizations.
Educated in Evanston's public schools, Trina received a BA from Bates College in Maine and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. She completed SEED (Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity) training. She is skilled in the Microsoft Office and Google products.
Trina lived in Washington, D.C., Maine, Zimbabwe and Morocco before returning to the Chicago area to start her career. An active community volunteer, she has coached youth soccer, founded a Cub Scout pack, was elected to local and national Peace Corps organization boards, served as a PTA officer and serves on the Cook County Commission on Women's Issues. Trina can converse in basic French, Spanish and Moroccan Arabic. She also welcomes new refugees to the United States and kayaks in her spare time.
